St Emilion, Loire Valley and Languedoc

View the holiday route.

This is a 21-day guided holiday for people with self-contained motorhomes visiting the wine areas of Western France. We will be staying at some of the most famous vineyards of France to attend tastings, and of course you may like to buy!

To start our holiday we will meet at a campsite near Dover where we will have a reception and a welcoming evening meal with a selection of wines.

After the channel crossing we will travel to the Loire Valley for a tasting at a famous wine merchant with perhaps a surprise. We will be camping at Bourgueil in time for the weekly market and a visit to the wine museum.

We travel on to the Cognac area where we will stop over at a beautiful farm to taste Cognac and other local produce.

We then move on to St Emilion for a tour of this picturesque town. We will have lunch in a square with a spectacular view overlooking the Dordogne Valley. The following day we have arranged a trip to a Chateau.

One of the highlights of the holiday is a stay at a ferme auberge where we will experience a six course gourmet dinner.

We then move on to stay at a vineyard near Gaillac where we will meet the vigneron who takes great pride in showing us round and we will, of course, taste his wines followed by a farmhouse dinner with more wine in a superb location.

The next day you will have the opportunity to visit Albi Cathedral before moving on to Pezenas.

We spend five days in the beautiful medieval town of Pézenas where we will enjoy dinner in a Renaissance courtyard, have a trip out to a nearby harbour for a seafood lunch and visit an abbey full of wine!

We return via the spectacular Millau Viaduct, beautiful Issoire and incomparable Chartres where we will have the opportunity of a guided tour of the famous Cathedral by one of the world's experts. We follow this by dinner in the shadows of the Cathedral.

Our last night will include a farewell dinner on the seafront at Calais.

The price of the holiday is £945 per person based on two people sharing. The cost for each additional passenger is £575. This is based on a motorhome being no longer than 6 metres. Charge per metre or part of a metre over 6 metres is £25.00.

The start date for this holiday is 7th June 2008.

Please remember our numbers are strictly limited to ten motorhomes per tour so do book early to avoid disappointment.
