2: Balance of payment
The final balance will be requested from you 10 weeks before the holiday is due to start. Your payments must be paid not later than 8 weeks prior to departure. If payment has not been received by the due date EWT reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled by the clients and apply cancellation charges as shown below:
3: Cancellation/Changes
You may cancel your booking at any time provided that the person signing the booking form makes the cancellation in writing to EWT. We may retain your deposit and in addition may apply the following cancellation charges:
Period before scheduled departure when written instruction received by EWT:
More than 60 days = Deposit only
30 to 60 days = 50% of holiday cost
Less than 30 days = 100% of holiday cost.
Whilst we reserve the right to cancel the booking at any time, this will only be for reasons beyond EWT’s control or failure on your part to observe the Booking Terms and Conditions. In the unlikely circumstances that EWT is unable to provide the holiday as booked, EWT will refund your money in full or offer you an alternative holiday. In the event of having to cancel the holiday EWT’s liability is limited to the value of the holiday as booked and EWT cannot be held liable for any consequential or other loss.
Should you wish to make any changes to your confirmed holiday, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. Whilst EWT will endeavour to assist you, EWT cannot guarantee to comply with any such request. Any requests for changes to your holiday received 45 days or less before departure will be treated as a cancellation by you and EWT’s normal cancellation charges as set out in this clause will be payable.
If any member of your party is prevented from travelling that person may transfer their place to someone else (introduced by you) providing EWT is notified no less than two weeks before departure.
4: Amendments/Disclaimer
Although it is extremely unlikely, circumstances may occur whereby EWT will have to make changes to the holiday as advertised and EWT reserve the right to make such changes. Weather, road conditions or forest fires for example, may force a change in the itinerary. If such circumstances do occur you will be notified as soon as possible and if the changes are of a major nature and are not attributable to circumstances of Force Majeur, you will be given the choice of accepting the changes, or cancelling the holiday with full refund.
5: Force majeur
In the unlikely event that your holiday is cancelled or interrupted by circumstances beyond EWT’s control which include, but are not limited to, war, riot, civil disturbance, natural disaster, terrorist activity, unpredictable weather conditions, fire etc, EWT cannot be held liable to the cost of the holiday booked.
6: Documentation and the law
All drivers must carry with them a current passport, driving licence or international licence and valid certificate of insurance. No refunds will be given if the holiday is aborted due to non-compliance with driving regulations. It is your responsibility to comply with all laws of the country you are visiting. Our office and tour director can advise you if you are in any doubt but it is the responsibility of each individual to ensure they understand the law and have the correct travel documents and permits. It is your responsibility to comply with the requirements regarding documentation and regulations which may vary. We strongly advise that you seek up to date advice from your motoring organisation.
You must also carry a fluorescent jacket for driver and an additional jacket for a passenger (to be hung over the front seats) and also carry a red triangle.
7: Travel Insurance
The purpose of this condition is to ensure that you are adequately protected and have a worry free holiday. EWT has a legal liability to draw your attention to the need for travel insurance. We strongly advise you to take out the following insurance:
Holiday cancellation insurance
Medical insurance 1,000,000 minimum (including repatriation)
Liability insurance 1,000,000 minimum
Breakdown insurance
We also recommend that your cover includes holiday interruption/cancellation and personal accident. Please note that should you expect to indulge in certain dangerous activities, these may not be covered by standard travel insurance. EWT cannot be held liable in the event of any claim arising out of events beyond their control, as a result of optional activities run by others or as a result of clients indulging in activities which are not part of the original booking. Should an accident or injury occur whilst you are on holiday your Tour Director will take prompt action without checking your insurance.
8: Special requests and medical problems
If you have any special requests, you must advise EWT at the time of booking and clearly note it on your booking form. Although EWT will endeavour to pass any reasonable requests on to the relevant supplier, EWT regret they cannot guarantee any request will be met. Failure to meet any special request will not be a breach of contract on EWT’s part. EWT regret they cannot accept any conditional bookings ie any booking which is specified to be conditional on the fulfilment of a particular request. All such bookings will be treated as “standard” bookings subject to the above provisions on special requests.
9: Complaints
